What must I do to be saved?
Listen to Jesus
Matthew 17:5, “While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, ‘This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!'”
Believe Jesus
John 8:24, “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am [He], you will die in your sins.”
Repent of sins
Acts 17:30, 31, “Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead.”
Confess Jesus as Son of God
Acts 8:36, 37 “Now as they went down the road, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, ‘See, [here is] water. What hinders me from being baptized?’ Then Philip said, ‘If you believe with all your heart, you may.’ And he answered and said, ‘I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.'”
Be Buried with Jesus in Water
Acts 8:38, “So he commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him.” Colossians 2:12, “buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with [Him] through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.”
Life after Baptism is to Live for Jesus
Romans 6:4, “Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” Once we have been forgiven, we are to live faithfully to Christ until our earthly time is over (Rev. 2:10).
